I think there is a utility in system
settings which is called soundcard detection…that should work. I had the
same problem when I first ran FC2.

I am new to Linux and just installed Fedora Core 2.
Every thing went fine except the sound... I do not hear any sounds...Even my
sound card is detected...(I have maintained a resonable volume and nothing is
muted.).
I am using an intel 845 board and the sound card detected is an AC97.
In windows I use SoundMAX drivers. But they do not distribute drivers.
Nether Intel nor HP(my pc is a HP d220MT) support Linux drivers.
Please help !!!
