SATA controllers and FC3

Looking to setup a home file server on a PII. Going to make the ide
drive the boot drive but need a PCI SATA card to drive one or two SATA
drives in a raid configuration. Which cards are compatible, I'm looking
at promise and adaptec. Any others?
