2.6.9-prep ?

Okay -- I found the SRPM -->
/pub/fedora/linux/core/3/SRPMS/kernel-2.6.9-1.667.src.rpm; installed it via
"rpm"; followed the release notes and built a new custom kernel -- 

So, why is the kernel known as --> "vmlinuz-2.6.9-prep" INSTEAD of the
expected --> "vinuz-2.6.9-1.667custom"?
