Then reboot the machine, which automatically downloads and installs all the latest packages from the mirrors, resulting in an immediately up to date installation with a fraction of the download time.
Personally, I like gentoo's approach: the installation CD would install just enough to get up and running, and then the user can choose to install packages from the CD which will need updates, or updated packages which are then downloaded on-the-fly.
But then, I'm spoiled on a T3 at work, so installing from a DVD iso and running "yum -y update" afterwards isn't so much an issue...
