I am a little confused about the recognition of usb storage devices. I have a Sandisk sm/cf card reader which is only added to fstab after unplugging then plugging it in and running kudzu. This is kind of a hassle compared to FC2 and even RH9 where is was configured automatically.

Do I have to cofigure these manually somewhere to have them recognised from boot? I read the udev man and poked around in /etc/udev but everything was pretty Greek to me.
