unfortunately I use LVM, so I must run anaconda from a CD... isn't it?

That would be the safest in my opinion, that is the path I followed and had no problemms (YMMV). Back up your data in case anything goes wrong with the upgrade though.
There is also a DVD for FC2, so you could use that too.
