You might also want to find and post the contents of your gdm.conf
file. I'm not sure where it is located exactly -- I don't use GDM --
but it's probably in the /etc directory somewhere.
I do not have a /etc/gdm directory nor a gdm.conf file in /etc.
I will keep looking for them.

Running "locate gdm.conf" on my FC2 gives me this:
/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf
Try looking there?
