Should it not show available connections and what they are doing?

Above command shows active netfilter rules in the filter table set by iptables. It will not show active connections or any "firewall in action". But if you have set filter rules with the system-config-securitylevel tool they should appear as rules from that command.

Is there a reason that ports 50 and 51 should be open on my firewall? I looked at services and the process associated with port 50 is not running on my system and there appears to be no service associated with port 51.
