FWIW I'm typing this on an old Celeron 433 on a BX motherboard running FC3. (OK: it's a BP6 motherboard with two 433s, but still.) Have you checked out the memory? It is *quite* possible for bad memory to stop an install but not be noticable in day-to-day use. Try memtest86. If the PC checks out, then you'll probably need to write down that panic and put it in Bugzilla, along with details of your hardware. You could also try a yum upgrade, but I'm not sure I'd recommend that: if it fails, you might have difficulty getting something back on the machine. You could also try getting a Knoppix CD and check that the machine is at least happy to load that from CD. Hope this helps, James. -- E-mail address: james | "What kind of music do you get here, ma'am?" @westexe.demon.co.uk | "Why, we get both kinds of music, Country and | Western."
