OK, I understand, it replaces the file (Its name just escaped me) under /etc having been used by in the past. However, I can't say to like this behavior. This might not be the appropriate forum, but doesn't this violate the FHS and LSB and prevents one from using using read-only "/" (roots)? Ralf
