This is the reply I got off list...

I'll bottom post. I did the smbclient -L thing. Asked for my password.
I hadn't set one so just hit enter and got this:

 Anonymous login successful
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.8pre1-0.pre1.3]

        Sharename       Type      Comment
        ---------       ----      -------
        Data            Disk
        IPC$ IPC IPC Service (Samba Server)
        ADMIN$ IPC IPC Service (Samba Server)
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.8pre1-0.pre1.3]

        Server               Comment
        ---------            -------
        LINUX SERVER         Samba Server
        SECOND

        Workgroup            Master
        ---------            -------
        WORKGROUP            LINUX SERVER

As for how I was trying to access it, I was trying to map a drive to
it so tools->Map drive then I'd browse. I'd see the server listed just
no shares.

I do use iptables but my rules are identical to what they were when my
old samba was working.
