Subject: Downloading core3
Are there any other torrents available for downloading FC3? The one at
linux.duke.edu doesn't seem to be working for me...
John:
Does it seem to be slow? I was connected all night and did not get much (about 5.5 MB, should be close to about 100MB). I've seen other torrents here, but I'm going to try a different client. The big problem may be that the original server is clogged up with users, which is not supposed to happen under the Torrent concept. Maybe we need more seeds....
Just to add a few more comments. I downloaded Azureus, installed it.
It does require a JRE that is at least 1.4.1 (I have 1.4.2_05). It
works much better than BitTorrent and has much more information (great
when you are trying to figure out what is happening.) I am still using
the heidelberg link from linux.duke.edu. One other comment, download
the .torrent file to your local drive and point your torrent client to
it. That seems to work better than trying to run Azureus from the 'net
connection, at least on my slow connection.
