[...]Ever since I upgraded to FC 2 (from Redhat 8.0), I have not been able to burn cdrom.
I was using commands like
cdrecord dev=1,0,0 speed=10 fc3_10f4.iso
in Redhat 8.0.
But it fails on FC2

Are you using the 2.6.8.x kernel? There are many posts in the archive discussing this problem. I've got a quick howto and workaround at this url:
