The filesystem type for all CDs is iso9660. So, instead:
mount -t iso9660 /dev/??? /mnt/cdrom
The '-t iso9660' is optional, as the kernel should be able to figure it out.

Hi! How can I mount RW-CD filesystems as in windows LnCD (Nero). Is it done so "mount -t vfat /dev/??? /mnt" device unknown and not sure the type is vfat. Windows can access it as programs in "Nero" . I'd like use it in Linux for writing and reading. The hardware is CD/RW and DVD -R. Thanks for answering. TS
