Bash and SH path

Here is the path in /.profile and /home/user/.profile :

PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/:/bin:${PATH}
export PATH
/bin/bash
ps1="hostname"

but command prompt isn't change by ps1 command which is located
in last line .
any help will apreciate .
