Hi everybody. Im using GNOME. I have GREAT audio but no midi. I checked
ALSA docs, and cant find anything that leads me to solution. Use a Intel
AC97 built-in card. Where should I start?
[root@rodolfoap root]# pmidi -l
Port Client name Port name
[root@rodolfoap root]# ls -l /dev/dsp*
crw------- 1 rodolfoap root 14, 3 feb 23 2004 /dev/dsp
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 oct 17 15:03 /dev/dsp0 -> dsp
crw------- 1 rodolfoap root 14, 19 feb 23 2004 /dev/dsp1
crw------- 1 rodolfoap root 55, 0 feb 23 2004 /dev/dsp56k
(weird permissions... Don't know why, I didnt change them)
[root@rodolfoap root]# ls -l /dev/*audio*
crw------- 1 rodolfoap root 14, 4 feb 23 2004 /dev/audio
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 oct 17 15:03 /dev/audio0 -> audio
crw------- 1 rodolfoap root 14, 20 feb 23 2004 /dev/audio1
crw------- 1 rodolfoap root 14, 7 feb 23 2004 /dev/audioctl
[root@rodolfoap root]# aconnect -i
client 0: 'System' [type=kernel]
0 'Timer '
1 'Announce '
Thanks!
I use timidity to play midi files on the fc2 box I have with onboard audio.
Hope this helps,
