I did the following test with the kernel from kernel.org: - I replaced the content of .config with the file /usr/src/linux-2.6.8-1.521/configs/kernel-2.6.8-i686.config - Compiled / installed the kernel. - Tested I didn't get an error message this time. So the problem has nothing to do with the content of .config. OK?
