As I said on my previous e-mail, there _is_ a driver for 3ware 9000 series under ANY version of 2.6.8-1.521 (at least the ones you can fetch using yum or up2date). A quick look into my system: [root@heracles root]# find /lib | grep 3w-9 /lib/modules/2.6.8-1.521smp/kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-9xxx.ko /lib/modules/2.6.8-1.521/kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-9xxx.ko [root@heracles root]# ls -lR /lib | grep 3w-9 -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 35360 Aug 16 07:55 3w-9xxx.ko -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 37496 Aug 16 07:55 3w-9xxx.ko [root@heracles root]# lsmod Module Size Used by smbfs 60089 0 nfsd 169441 1 exportfs 9281 1 nfsd nfs 161917 0 lockd 53513 2 nfsd,nfs sunrpc 128805 11 nfsd,nfs,lockd md5 7745 1 ipv6 233701 16 autofs4 20165 0 e1000 74828 0 e100 33861 0 mii 7617 1 e100 floppy 54481 0 sg 33377 0 microcode 10209 0 dm_mod 49477 0 uhci_hcd 30553 0 button 8793 0 battery 11085 0 asus_acpi 13017 0 ac 7373 0 xfs 482049 2 3w_9xxx 31301 1 aic7xxx 145145 3 sd_mod 20801 5 scsi_mod 102025 4 sg,3w_9xxx,aic7xxx,sd_mod [root@heracles root]# cat /etc/modprobe.conf alias eth0 e100 alias eth1 e1000 alias eth2 e1000 alias scsi_hostadapter0 aic7xxx alias scsi_hostadapter1 3w-9xxx alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 install snd-intel8x0 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install snd-intel8x0 && /usr/sbin/alsactl restore >/dev/null 2>&1 || : remove snd-intel8x0 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0 alias usb-controller uhci-hcd ~ Omar -----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Eucke Warren Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 5:26 PM To: For users of Fedora Core releases Subject: Re: Promise FastTrack drivers for FC2 >Am Di, den 26.10.2004 schrieb Eucke Warren um 23:34: >> No, he did not say anything contradictory but I wanted to point out that the >> "later" kernel (2.6.8-1.521), the one that he mentioned, did not work as he >> said for my build.
