Add/Remove Applications is a distraction. Don't bother with it, unless you have a slow/dial-up internet connection, in which case it may be marginally useful to install applications shipped with FC off of the install media. If you have a decent internet connection, just use up2date or yum and pull the most recent version of the application off the 'net (you can get a list of available packages with "yum list" and get info on any particular package with "yum info {package name}". If having an easy to administrate/patch/upgrade system is important to you, try to stick to using software repositories and plugging them into yum/up2date (they both use the same repo architecture, so what works in one will work in the other). You can find links to many repos by searching the archives, but some of the best/most important are: www.freshrpms.net www.atrpms.net www.fedora.us www.livna.org ...you can find instructions on inserting them into your repo list on the sites. -- Ben Steeves _ bcs@xxxxxxxxxx The ASCII ribbon campaign ( ) ben.steeves@xxxxxxxxx against HTML e-mail X GPG ID: 0xB3EBF1D9 http://www.metacon.ca/bcs / \ Yahoo Messenger: ben_steeves
