I guess that you can put them plugins in the local .mozilla/firefox/../plugins directory or where ever your .firefox directory is. But this isn't going to be a global thing. Or go hunting for where the plugins directory is, possibly a locate may help.

Is there a reason, or is that a bug?  Is there a workaround short of
copying the plugins to /usr/lib/firefox-0.10.1/plugins/?
