Changing keyboard from USB to PS/2

A box had FC2 installed with a USB keyboard and mouse connected.
The owner now wants to connect it to a KVM with a PS/2 keyboard
and mouse.

The keyboard works at the bios level, works at the grub prompt
and works booted off the rescue disk but isn't detected when the
system boots normally - kudzu doesn't see it.

I tried replacing the usb keyboard entry in /etc/sysconfig/hwconf
with a ps2 entry and rebooted but no luck.

Note:

this is not a problem with the X configuration. The keyboard
doesn't work in single user or run level 3 either.

it's not a problem with the KVM. It doesn't work with the
keyboard and mouse plugged directly into the PC either.

Is there any way to get the OS to recognize the keyboard?

Thanks
