I upgraded my kernel this morning to 2.6 from 2.4 and can't get into X
because it won't find the mouse.
This is a laptop with a built in pointing device, no external mouse.

In /etc/grub.conf add to the kernel line "psmouse.proto=imps" (without
quotes) - assuming you have a touchpad.
If you upgraded from FC1 to FC2 be sure the /etc/X11/-configuration_file
(XF86Config or xorg.conf) contains the proper path for the mouse device:
/dev/input/mice.

It's not a touchpad. It's the little stub pointer in the keyboard between the g and h keys, with 2 buttons on the flat part of the notebook below the space bar.
This didn't work.
And I'm not at FC2 just yet but hope to be by tonite.
Thanks if you have another suggestion.
