What is meant is chuck off the previous replies and fluff and keep maybe the last reply, don't keep on archiving the old replies in your message. :)
You should go to the Courier site (http://www.courier-mta.org) and there are some instructions on how to build things as a user or as root. I think that an rpmbuild -ta filename.tar.gz should do the trick. So make sure that you take a look on how to do that stuff.
It is easier to just build your own rpms as the libs on your machine will be used and you will/can be sure that it will work fine.
