I installed fedora 3 test 1 several weeks ago and it works pretty well.

The only thing I had to do was installing the most recent kernel
(2.6.8.1) , in order to have drivers for ethernet on nforce3 chipset.

I think that you won't have more problems installing fedora core 2.
