Hi,
I am running the RedHat Fedora core 2 on an Athlon computer. The computer ran without any problem since the Fedora core 2 release. Since the following updates, the X windows system freezes after a random amount of time.
I've been running into similar problems since the first kernel update of FC2. I'm still using the "original" FC2 kernel, because the later updates have broken X somehow (I haven't tested the last one yet, though)
There's a bug open about this:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=125887
It is related to Athlon systems, it is very specific (i.e. it doesn't show up in all configurations -- and I suspect that's why it's still unresolved :( --).
Unfortunately, I suppose the information provided in that bug report (and others related to this problem) is not sufficient to solve it. But I haven't been able to provide more specific detail.
Regards,
