[fedora] /etc/group and /etc/gshadow

Hi

As I have understood I have to edit /etc/group to edit users group
memberships.
I have also noticed a file called /etc/gshadow 
What does this file do?
Should I edit gshadow as ell?
If so I have to give root write permissions first since root now only have
read permission...
