I would like to recommend to look into EBLite, which is still in development,
but very interesting, because it can handle MSN, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, Jabber and
it consists of two parts: a core, which handles all protocols, etc and GUI's
from which you can choose. Currently they have a QT gui available and they
are developing Ncurses, command-line, and several WAP GUI's.
Look into it: http://www.everybuddy.com and link to the EBLite page.
