SII doesn't have the RAID Function (Libsata) coz the drivers for Linux are
still in beta version, so you can't use this kind of controller for hardware
RAID . Same problem with SATA 150 with Promise.

You won't get any problem with 3Ware controller 7000 - 8000 series

Subject: FC2 Problems with RAID 1 - 2 Haddisks

Hi!

I have a SATA RAID 0/1 Controller with a Silicon Image Chipset and Raid 1
configured with 2 Harddisks. It works fine under Windows, but under Fedora
Core 2 (also RedHat 9) I see not only one mirrored Harddisk, but also two
single Disks.

Have Anybody an idea why ?? I have tried other controllers from Adaptec and
Promise, but there was no way to use the defined RAID drive.

thx for help
Rebecca
