These are the two I use most often:
gftp - a nice gui!
ncftp - nice fast command line client with many features

There are two that can be handy for writing a quick script for 
repetitive uploads/downloads (perhaps something to stick in a cron job, 
for instance):
ncftpput
ncftpget

Konqueror can be used as an FTP client as well.
