Fedora Core 2 take too long on loading aic79xx driver and then after proceeding when i select manual partition through disk druid its says /dev/sda No such device or address . this drive is new Seagate Ultra 320 37 GB .
what could be the cause of this problem ?

I had this exact same problem yesterday while working on a server for a client(took me 4 hours). The solution was disabling hostraid in the scsi bios, because with it enabled it doesn't use the aic79xx driver(it uses a binary-only aic320 or so). you will loose raid capability but it's not a big deal(I've been told it's actually made in software)
