I just upgraded my Redhat 9 with 2.4 kernel to FC2 with 2.6 kernel and now I can no longer acces my EXABYTE 8505 tape drive.
mt stat gives this error:
[root@www john]# mt stat
/dev/tape: No such device or address

lsmod looks like this:

With a 2.4 kernel and a ISP1040 HBA instead of the ISP12160 the tape drive is fully functional.

I had to replace the ISP1040 with the ISP12160, because Qlogic doesn't want to supply a 2.6 versions of their driver.
