I ran some timings. The "http://fedora.redhat.com/.../fedora-core-2"; messages comes up almost immediately, then there is a 3 minute wait before the "http://fedora.redhat.com/.../updates-released-fc2"; message, and finally a 6 minute wait before the python dump ending with the "timeout" error.
