I have tried various combination using GSX server and Workstation
4.5.x but haven't really seen any slowness. But then again, I need
to understand what you mean by slowness. First of all, when running
your host system, you need to make sure you have ample memory for the
guest system. If you have too many stuff running on the background,
it's definently going to slow both system down. There are number of
tweaks for the guest OS as well. On the guest OS setting, make sure
you disable services you don't need like CDROM/Sound, etc... On the
host machine, make sure you disable vmnetx, meaning if your using
your guest OS as NAT only then you could turn off your VMnet1 I think
or VMnet8, so that you don't have these virtual pipes running.
