Just a note regarding a CVS release of xorg-x11 that is in development. I tried the CVS version on three computers and had success on two out of three boxes. The Dell with the 828656 Graphics controller did not seem to crash randomly any longer. Also a laptop using the radeon driver seemed to work better and some more applications that require 3D worked w/ the CVS version that did not work with the latest FC2 release or previous FC3 testing releases.

The failure was for boxes that use the Intel 815 Chipset. They worked fine until X was closed. On an attempt to restart X, it was X no more.

Try if you dare or X crashed before, so no loss.

Jim
