I am stumped, could very easily be a simple 'overlooked' solution that I am not seeing at moment. After customizing kernel 2.4.22-1.2197ntpl within Core1, compiling ntfs ro support and sound modules for my sound blaster, I can not get the customized kernel to boot up. Here are the last three lines on boot-up, prior to system freeze... >> VFS: Cannot open root device "LABEL=/" or 00:00 >> Please APPEND a correct "root=" boot option >> Kernel panic : VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 00:00 It may be that I am being a little blind at seeing a solution, I would appreciate any help at seeing a resolution. thank you in advance Marc "Qball" qball@xxxxxxxxxx
