yes,i've just wanted KDE as the default desktop after i login.and running "switchdesk kde" in the console solved the problem.thanks..

switchdesk changes only the the desktop, not the X login. The switch from gdm to kdm can only be done with echo "DISPLAYMANAGER=KDE" >> /etc/sysconfig/desktop
