I will let you know of my results if I do. I haven't heard of anyone getting this working properly with FC-2, including people much more knowledgeable than me, eg Steve Barr, the king of Picturebook Linux <http://www.stevebarr.com>. Nb It worked perfectly with FC-1. It seems to be the changeover to Xorg (from XFree86) with FC-2 that caused the problem. I tried using the ati driver from FC-1 with FC-2, but unfortunately there seem to have been a large number of changes (particularly in libraries) going from XFree86 to Xorg. Incidentally, when changing xorg.conf (I've got a collection now of about two dozen.) is there any simpler way of "restarting X" than going to a text console with Ctr-Alt-F1, running "sudo telinit 3", changing xorg.conf, and then running "sudo telinit 5" ? -- Timothy Murphy e-mail (<80k only): tim /at/ birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-2336090, +353-1-2842366 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland
