In the GNOME Desktop you can use gnome-session-properties to manually add/remove items in the desktop startup. (Which would normally be under Preferences->Session but a bug in FC2 hides it.) In many cases you can simply start every application you want to run at login then select "Save Current Setup" on the logout dialog. > Something like the commands in autoexec.bat under Windows. /etc/rc.d/rc.local is executed at the end of init just before login. You can run non-interactive commands from rc.local. -- David Norris http://www.webaugur.com/dave/ ICQ - 412039
