You can add the command to /etc/rc.d/rc.local. You may also want to
read "man modprobe.conf"

In the GNOME Desktop you can use gnome-session-properties to manually
add/remove items in the desktop startup. (Which would normally be under
Preferences->Session but a bug in FC2 hides it.)

In many cases you can simply start every application you want to run at
login then select "Save Current Setup" on the logout dialog.

/etc/rc.d/rc.local is executed at the end of init just before login.
You can run non-interactive commands from rc.local.
