   Dear all,
             Thanks for the reply. I think that installing the synaptics
rpm recommended by Paul Kloves works best for me!

And in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

replacing

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier  "Mouse0"
        Driver      "mouse"               <---------------------
        Option      "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
        Option      "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
        Option      "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
        Option      "Emulate3Buttons" "yes"
