Hi, I've just upgraded my mail server box from a vanilla pentium to a pentium 2, simply by switching the disk to the new box. I'm now getting lots of text on boot up; I'm assuming that this is because the kernel is a i586 rather than an i686. What I'd like to know is it ok to force an RPM update to change the kernel, c libs, ssl and anything else that has an i686 version rpm. Any view of the best way to go about this would be appreciated. Thanks, Tony |
