Is there any reason I couldn't build the current 2.4.x kernel on my FC2 system for use on a RHL 7.3 box? Both are x86 machines.

If you're currently running a kernel older than 2.4.x on the 7.3 box, I believe you'll need to update a couple of system utilities (modutils, etc). Other than that, you should be OK. Double check the kernel doc, I believe it will detail the minimum rev level for required system utils.
