Installing Linux using DHCP/TFTP/pxeboot on a diskless client

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

The last few days, I was playing around and trying to figure out how to
get Linux (FreeBSD and FC2) onto a client that has neither an
OS/CDrom/Floppy/USB Boot but has Network Boot Capability.

Hence I ventured forth and succeeded.

If anyone's interested, I've written up a small Howto. (something which
I always Do once I learn something new)

I've posted it here http://www.livejournal.com/users/lotso/1863.html

I've not gone and actually written it all the way into the end (meaning,
finish the installation) and I don't plan to.. since the hard part was
figuring out how to actually boot the client.

Appreciate comments.

I'll convert it into HTML after it's been reviewed by you guys and
upload it somewhere.
