Does hotplug call devlabel for USB device changes?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I am using devlabel to assign symbolic device names as described in:

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-3-Manual/sysadmin-guide/ch-devlabel.html

However, when I remove or add a USB device, I must always run:

devlabel restart (as root)

to force the appropriate changes to occur in /dev.

Shouldn't hotplug be calling devlabel for me? I do have CONFIG_HOTPLUG=y in my kernel config.

Thanks for any advice.
