Funny thing is, when booting into RH9, that mounts just fine. Anyway, andaconda (the installer) stopped at that point and I had to reboot. Sometimes my external USB attached HD and my USB Zip drive are recognised and most times only the Zip drive. After extensive testing of different configurations etc., all of which are recognised and mount OK on an old install of RH7.1, I have come to the conclusion that the new 2.6.5-1.358 kernel is pretty useless when it comes to handling USB devices. I have asked the question here but either no one has experienced the problem or no one knows the answer. I am thinking of trying an upgrade to the kernel to see if that fixes the problem if there is no response to my post.
