It's not completely clear from your report that that is the case.
There could just be something wrong with your grub setup.

If I were in your position I would get tomsrtbt - Linux on a floppy -
or Knoppix, and run fdisk from that to see what it thinks your setup is.
In fact I would use fdisk to set up the Linux partitions
before installing Fedora.

It might be worth trying "grub-install --recheck /dev/hde2" or whatever,
using the Fedora disk #1 in rescue mode.
