I have Fedora C1 and can't seem to figure out how to have hard drives
spin-down after they haven't been accessed for 30 minutes or so. My
computer at home that runs MythTV doesn't really need to generate all
that heat and eat power just to record shows in the evening. Is there an
easy way to configure that "spin down"?

hdparm -S perhaps?

 hdparm <options> <device>

Use --help to fine tune other options as well, just watch out for those
labeled DANGEROUS, can use #man hdparm for granularity

=)

Are you broadcasting from the MythTV computer via streams to another which
catches and decodes the output (separate computer with video card?) If so,
you can also add more fans, and remove unneeded hardware from the
broadcasting/storage box, and only use the streaming box as the output/video
decoding box... Just a thought.
