The problem appears as soon as you run a kernel newer than 2.6.5.x
358. For some reason, any later kernel (2.6.6.1.435 and up) all cause
this problem with both the Aironet 340 and 350. I've tried to determine whether the problem is in the driver or is related to the newer kernel's pcmcia drivers, but no luck so far. Id just suggest you spend $25-30 and buy a new wireless nic... Check the compatible nic website http://www.linux-wlan.org/docs/wlan_adapters.html.gz On Mon, 2004-07-26 at 10:28, Steven Kugelmass wrote:Hello. I'm having trouble with my airo card using the later kernel. I'm on a Dell Insprion 4100. No kernel options are provided at boot.kernel-2.6.6-1.435.2.3 Hangs. Plug it in, /var/log/messages says:Exactly the same problem using kernel-2.6.6-1.435.2.3. Mine is Cisco Aironet 340 PCMCIA PC Card on Fujitsu Lifebook S4532 But I did not try to back down to lower rev kernel, doing reinstall with another distro (JDS) instead :( |
