It's always struck me that conversations about CAD -- particularly in computer-oriented contexts -- are much like the fable about the blind man and the elephant: It all depends on what part of the beast that you know -- or think that you know. Trust me, I'm no AutoCAD fan -- but my short answer to the OP's query about a Linux equivalent to AutoCAD is, "Probably not, but there may be kludges. What does the part of the elephant that you're holding feel like?" I suggest that we take any further discussion off-list. It might be fun, and I need a little excitement around here. -- cmg
