I think you are speaking about the chrooted bind, as the "normal" bind
install has the paths like ages before.

The default chroot directory for bind is /var/named/chroot. So that is
for bind the virtual root and therefor within this chroot all paths are
again common:
/var/named/chroot/var/named --> master zone files
/var/named/chroot/var/named/slaves --> slave zone files
/var/named/chroot/etc/named.conf --> central named config file
/var/named/chroot/var/log --> logfile directory
