I noticed this as well. I suspected that the name changes
(like kernel-src -->  kernel-sourcecode) produced some sort
of disconnect for rpm.

I used rpm -e on the doc package then did an up2date on the package
a kernel or so ago and things synced up.

My guess and opinion is that FC2 suffers from a number of upgrade
problems in the way current rpm replace/update/newer-than rules
are structured and specified. This needs some attention for FC3
both for updates from FC1 and from FC2.

Some of the most difficult for users to address have been fixed
(x-free --> x-org).  But not all.

Time to look at the spec files and see if there is something obvious.
Transitions are a bear to get correct.
